PLASTER PROFILESfor thermal insulation system /ETICS/

PVC profile: simple solution of reinforcement.

Profiles made of metal are known long ago and are applied everywhere. Laths for wall alignment and rules considerably facilitated performance of plaster works. in The first plaster profiles made of PVC appeared in the market about 30 years ago. In short terms they became popular and, first of all, in a segment of plaster systems of warming of facades.

The history of PVC profiles began in the middle of 1980s. At that time more modern and environmentally friendly window and door construction designs were joined to same plaster mixes, new on a compounding.

Putting plaster manually or mechanically resulted in violation of their covering and change of color. Protective films and adhesive tapes were used for preventing a surface of the adjoining elements from damage.

However, these materials not always performed the function.  They were getting torn when removed, were damaging a covering, for example, of wooden details – and it caused problems and losses which builders and producers of materials incurred independently.

A native of Saarland August Brown suggested a solution to this problem. He developed a PVC lath which was firmly glued into the window and daubed. So, the form of window contiguity or the form of the adjacent window was firstly presented in 1986 on the exhibition in Nuremberg.

Gluing of a lath was carried out by means of a double-sided adhesive sealing tape that considerably made a knot of an adjunction moisture-proof.

Strong connection between the profile and plaster material was provided by corrugated shelves of PVC profile and reinforced mesh. A distinctive feature of this product was that the profile was equipped with a protective lath on which paper or film was pasted to protect the window and which was completely removed after the painting and plastering works.

Paper tapes and tape were no longer required because of the advent of this product.

Today, the functions of profiles such as daubing, compacting and protection remained the same.

However, there are also other types of PVC profiles for various mounting units such as corner profile with mesh, deformation and ground profiles, drip profile, etc.

The use of the metal profiles started to lose its popularity for performing plaster works.

By the end of 1980s, the rapid development of PVC profiles began among other reasons due to installation thermal insulation systems instead of the usual daubing of elevation of buildings.

Today, PVC profile can be used both outside and inside the premises: from the basement to the gutters and from floor to ceiling.

With the beginning of the widespread use of thermal insulation systems there also appeared some changes in architecture.

There was a visually harmonious connection between windows and the facade design instead of deep window openings which significantly stood out on the facade.

Insulation render bead PVC opened up new structural possibilities in plaster works and stimulated innovation development in the relevant industry.

Today we can notice a paradox. The more successful producers of PVC profile complete constantly toughening demands of physics of civil engineering and diverse architectural conceptions, the bolder designs become.

Reveal bead.

Large doorways, wide windows and high glazing areas have always been and still remain complex design processes. This is primarily due to the potential movement of the structure under the influence of temperature, ultraviolet light and moisture which can result in deformation and additional loads on the door and window frames. There was no solution to this problem before the appearance of the reveal bead.

The new profile enabled builders to minimize these movements and deformations. The reveal bead consists of a PVC base with a glued sealing tape, which assumes the deformation of the structural joints after installation.

At the same time, they are protected from external weather factors.

Another advantage of this product was the ability to quickly and perfectly smooth application of plaster on the slope using a shelf for wall alignment. It considerably reduced terms of performance of painting and plaster works on a particular site.

In addition, reveal bead which was additionally equipped with fiberglass mesh allowed to exclude the appearance of cracks on the plaster coating of the slope.

The design of the basement without thermal bypass

Until recently, only metal profiles which were small thermal bypasses, were used as the final touch.

The presented calculations showed that they had a small negative impact on the overall performance of the thermal insulation system.

To eliminate these minor heat losses PVC ground profiles were developed and presented to the consumer.

Quality and price

There are many manufacturers with different versions of the profile In a new segment of the market with great potential for development including the market of PVC profiles. Most of them are not developed independently but simply copied and very often not qualitatively.

The difference between quality and mass copying becomes noticeable only after receiving a complaint from the customer.

Many manufacturer-copiers use extremely low cost of the product as the main competitive advantage without paying any attention to its actual quality.
